What can I Build in The garden

Did you know there's a whole range of work that can be carried out by a licensed building practitioner without the need for an approved building consent

So the rules are changing and the government has recently introduced several changes in the Building Act to allow us to carry out work without the need for an approved consent. 

Hang on, before you start planning the second dwelling in the back garden there are some cosiderations 

The recent exemptions require the work to be carried out or supervised by a suitably qualified LBP or designer and the work must meet the minimum requirement of the NZBC.

We at asset have been involed in recent work that  using the recent rule changes did not require a consent however did not comply with the requirements of the buidling code. 

This is a concern as the general public put their trust in competent liscenced building parctitioners who are the experts.
